The MRCP Part 2 Clinical Examination, also referred to as the Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills (PACES), is a critical evaluation of the clinical proficiency and expertise of aspiring doctors aiming for higher specialist training, specifically ST3. To be eligible for PACES, candidates must have successfully passed the MRCP Part 1 written exam within the past 7 years. This examination is designed to uphold stringent standards, ensuring candidates are adept in a diverse range of clinical skills and capable of delivering exceptional patient care.

During the examination, candidates will undergo assessment on their execution of fundamental clinical skills. There are five clinical stations, each featuring either actual patients presenting with specific conditions or trained surrogate patients. At every station, two independent examiners will closely observe and evaluate the candidate's performance.
