Established in 1944, Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara (UMFT) stands as a distinguished public institution of higher medical education. Situated in Timisoara, a city located in western Romania, the university pays tribute to the renowned scientist Victor Babes, celebrated as one of the pioneers of modern microbiology. UMFT boasts a range of facilities, including research centers, a well-stocked library, computer science labs, and medical informatics departments.

Currently, Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy offers a diverse array of courses across seven faculties and departments. The Faculty of Medicine, which initially began with four hospitals, has now expanded to include approximately twelve hospitals. Within these hospitals, medical students gain hands-on experience in fields such as General Medicine, Pediatrics, and Hygiene. Furthermore, the university houses three faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry Medicine, and the Faculty of Pharmacy.
